The Center For Culturally Responsive Therapy was founded by Dr. Karisman Roberts-Douglass. Dr. Roberts-Douglass is a licensed clinical psychologist, consultant and educator. He has his own private practice in San Jose, CA and is a tenured faculty counselor at San Jose State University, one of the largest public universities in California and most ethnically diverse in the nation. For the past 15 years, Dr. Roberts-Douglass has provided individual and couples therapy and assessments for underserved communities. He has worked collaboratively with university administrators and community organizations to combat interpersonal violence and to improve graduation and retention rates for students of color. His work encompasses being an expert in the area of masculine identity development and an educator of clinicians. His clinical specialties include cultural identity formation, masculinity issues, depression, anxiety, stress management, and relationship and couples counseling. Dr. Roberts-Douglass’ natural ability to connect with diverse groups of people and create a tailored treatment plan has been pivotal in helping his clients become active participants in creating the change they need.

Dr. Roberts-Douglass holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Santa Clara University and a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree from the California School of Professional Psychology. He loves spending time with his family and giving back to his community.
